Our Week

Wednesday we had a play day at the church playground. It was sooo hot though. I just couldn't take that heat for a long period of time. Ava had fun though so thats all that matters. We love going there too because its private and you don't have to worry about strangers bringing animals in or people smoking around the kids.
I worked Thursday.
Friday we went to Huntsville shopping with a good Friend. We had such a fun day. Let me just tell you about our lunch experience. This would happen only to me!!! We went to Logans....a place we go a lot. I ordered salad and a sweet potato. I love those!!!! So we had pretty much finished lunch. I ate all my salad, some rolls, and almost all my potato. I take a bite and there is something sharp and foreign in my mouth. I spit it out to find a STAPLE. Yes you read that correct. I was like OH MY GOODNESS. Its a good thing I didn't swallow it but what upset me most is what if I would have gave that to Ava. I sometimes try to get her to eat it with me. So the manager came over and of course apologized and told me my meal was free. He said the potato's arrive in crates and they staple papers to them, so that's the only explanation he could come up with. We had a fun day of shopping though. We both found a lot of stuff. Ava did great too!!
I came home last night and watched Dear John. I have been wanting to see that since I saw the previews. I read the book so I knew what to expect but it was still good. It didn't hurt to know that Channing Tatum was the lead character. LOL! Let me just tell you I cried my eyes out from the beginning. Adam walked in the living room and I had a pile of tissues on the couch beside me. He was like why are you crying when you know whats going to happen. I am like because its sad and I can't help it!!!!!!
So this morning my eyes are still swollen....YES I cried that much :)
I have a busy day ahead. I have desserts to make for our benefit singing tonight at church. Then I have to be down there at 3 to start working my shift. I hope it doesn't rain because its outside. :(

Our new Bed!

So I told you I would post pics of the new bedroom suite. I couldn't get the chest in the picture...and of course the dresser isn't here yet. I am going for a chic look so I am not doing anything on the walls or nightstands. I hate clutter.

Oh and I added some pictures of Ava eating homemade blueberry muffins. She loves them!!! Random I know.

Six Flags

OH my I am feeling my age this morning. We went to Six Flags yesterday with some friends. We had so much fun but I have to admit that my body and mind just isn't what it was at 18. :)
It was kind of funny thinking about how things are now versus then. Then I would have NEVER went out in public in what I wore yesterday. I am not a tennis shoes person but I did wear them yesterday and I was thanking myself all day. Especially when I saw all the cute little girls that wore flip flops with sores on their feet and the fact they had to put their flips up before each ride. While riding the super man all I could think about from the time the bar locked was "Oh Lord if this bar unlocks for some reason we are DEAD". I didn't even enjoy the ride. I was praying for the end when my feet were on solid ground. At 18 I was screaming with my hands up in the air and probably thinking about the cute guy sitting next to me :)
We did have so much fun!!! I even managed to not get really sunburned.

Quality Time

I got my bedroom furniture Thursday, minus the dresser. We LOVE it. It looks so awesome with the paint color and my comforter set. It is just as I envisioned it. I love it when that happens. I will take pics and post soon. Ok, this bed is heaven. Adam said its the most comfortable bed he has ever slept on. I almost agree. I was trying to find the mattress we slept on in Maui on one of our trips. I LOVED the mattress. Its pretty close though.

Adam was off Friday-Sunday so we enjoyed our weekend. Friday we hung around the house due to the rain. We grabbed Mexican Friday night and then made a trip to Home Depot. We are planning on building a deck on our house. I am super excited. We have thought about it for a while and then just decided why not. It will only increase the value of the house. Saturday I got up early and went to yard sales. I love doing that. Mom kept Ava for me. Later Adam, me and Ava went to Huntsville. We did some shopping and ate dinner. It was such a nice day together. Sunday we had a decoration in Holly Pond. Sunday night we got back in time for church.

Today I have a doctors appointment in Huntsville with a specialist. I am hoping to get some answers and relief. Dad is going along with me and Ava. We have some errands to run afterwards and then I am taking him out to eat for his Birthday.....its tomorrow.

First Hair Cut....

Well I am not even sure you would say that. Her bangs were in her eyes and we just had them trimmed. It really wasn't much hair at all. I got enough for her baby book though :) I also took some pictures of her sitting in the chair like a big girl. She didn't cry at all.....just wiggly like always.

Oh my bedroom furniture that I ordered 11 weeks ago is FINALLY in. They are suppose to deliver it tomorrow. I am sooo excited. I will post pics of that later.

I started this post this morning and since have got a call from the furniture store. Like this whole situation could get worse.....Uh yeah. The dresser is smashed in. So that means I will have all of my furniture tomorrow minus the dresser. I am just assuming it will take another million years to get that in too.

Celebrations

We started our weekend Saturday celebrating a friends 2nd Birthday....Emma Reece. She had a pool party. Bless their hearts the one day last week that was in the 70s and windy. OH well the kids had fun. I let Ava get in the little pool and she liked it ok. She mainly just wanted to put her feet in and splash around. Saturday night Ava didn't feel good so that wasn't great but she is much better now!!

Sunday we celebrated Mothers Day. I have a wonderful mother. She is not only my mom but a dear friend. She is always there for me. I hope to be half the mother to Ava one day. I also thank God for my grandmothers. I am blessed that God allowed me to experience Motherhood.

We went to church and then out to eat with the family.

My loving husband had to work 12 hours yesterday, but I woke up to see a beautiful vase of flowers and a card from him and a card from Ava. I thought that was super sweet!

Calgon take me away...

Yesterday I had a dr. appt. in Huntsville so Adam planned on keeping Ava for me. Tuesday I had a thought go off in my head.....hey I still have gift cards to spend at the spa. I had them since Christmas....i am ashamed to say. It was the perfect day to use them since Adam would have Ava. YES! I made my appt. Tuesday (even though they say they need 5-7 days notice).
So I made a day that would otherwise not be all that great a GREAT one!!!
I can't say enough good things about the Westin Spa at Bridgestreet. The service was great! I spent 3 wonderful, quiet, relaxing hours there. I can honestly say that is the most relaxed I have felt in....well I can't remember the last time I felt that "Zen" like.
The hard part was picking myself up and driving back home :)

So note to self....from now on ask for gift cards to the Westin for any occasion!!!

Lexie is gone

For those of you who don't know who "Lexie" is.....its my car :)
I am super excited that it sold but somewhat oddly sad. Adam looked at me like I was stupid when I said its kind of emotional getting rid of the car. I have drove that thing sooo many miles and just have so many memories. OH well I am excited.....one less vehicle to have in the drive way, pay insurance on, etc. I put it on Craigslist and have had a lot of emails about it but today was the first day I have shown it to anyone. I can't believe that the first people to look at it bought it.....and paid CASH.
