My sick baby

Tuesday afternoon Ava got sick! Actually the first time she has experienced the whole throw up thing. EW I know!! She was really clingy, but I didn't think anything about it. Lately she has been attached to my hip. She wanted me to hold her so I pick her up and when I did she got sick all over both of us! Let me just say I can handle poo, snot, etc....BUT something about throw up I can't handle. I did good though. I guess I just went into "Mom mode". I ran with her to the bathroom and cleaned us both up. Bless her heart she was so scared. She didn't know what happened. She only got sick one other time and that was it. So I am not sure it was something she ate or a little bug. I hope its over. She was fine yesterday and ate good.


Ok, I have to share a funny....I was watching New Moon yesterday. Yes its a little obsession of mine. Anyways, Ava came in there and saw the part where Jacob was shirtless before or after becoming a werewolf. She said "Daddy"!!! Oh lord if only that were true. Just Joking! I guess she saw dark skin and dark hair and thats her daddy for sure! I had to tell him and make his day!


My grandpa got to come home yesterday. He still has sooo far to go, but I am proud he is home!!!


On a random note our DVR receiver went out last night. OH yes it would have to go out before the night that it is usually hopping with recordings. I am ashamed to say how much I rely on that thing...and secretly love it!!! They are sending us one, but it won't be here till tomorrow or Saturday.

Random

Last week was a little crazy. Mom and Dad were gone all week...so I worked 2 days. I had to round up a babysitter and that in itself is stressful to me. Ava did great though. Friday night we met some freinds in Guntersville and had Japanese. It was so yummy! We went to their house and got to spend some much needed time together! Saturday night I went out with the girls to celebrate my birthday and other one of my freind's birthdays. We went to Cheddars and it was sooo good. I ate so much!!! We had to wait a litle while, but it was sooo worth it. Sunday was church.

Ok, I have a random picture of Ava with her IDOL, Kyndall. We went to Taco Bell after church last night. Kyndall's mom kept Ava those two days I worked. Ava adores Kyndall. I am serious if Kyndall told Ava to jump off a bridge I am scared to say she probably would. When I went to pick her up one afternoon Kyndall was wetting Ava's hair and styling it like a mohawk and Ava was just laughing. LOL

Happy Birthday to ME!

Yesterday I turned 29. YES one more year to savor my twenties! Ok, when I put it like that it sounds very depressing. Oh well age is just a number...right?

Monday night my sweet romantic husband starting acting odd in the kitchen. I heard him in there fumbling around. I asked him what he was doing and he said "Baking a cake". Awww he was baking me a Birthday cake. I thought that was so sweet! Mom/dad usually make sure I get a cake but they are in Florida this week. Anyways, the cake was VERY sweet and yummy.
Yesterday I had a very dear Friend come over and bring me another cake. So yeah for me I have 2 cakes at home!!!!! Me and Ava went to Huntsville and at lunch at Red Lobster with one of my Friends. Then we did some shopping! Thank the Birthday Gods for letting Ava fall asleep, and let me enjoy an hour of quiet shopping! Happy Birthday to me!!!!

Early Birthday fun

Saturday afternoon we dropped Ava off at my parents house and headed to Huntsville. It felt so great to get out of the house! We were suppose to be going to celebrate my Birthday...a little early. Its not till Tuesday, but Adam is working and mom and dad are going out of town. We shopped some and then had a WONDERFUL dinner. I spent one of my Christmas gift cards at Anthropologie. Love that store! We had dinner at Conner's at Bridgestreet. It was so good. I ate so much, but didn't overdo it so that I was sick. I think everyone has had cabin fever with the snow because it was so crowded everywhere.

Today we went to Higdon to pay our respects to a wonderful woman. She was the mom of one of our Friends. I felt so bad for him. I can't imagine how hard it would be to loose a parent!

Oh and Ava is 22 months today. I feel a little overwhelmed thinking she is going to be 2 in 2 months. I am just planning a very low key party this year. I went all out for her 1st Birthday.

Snowed In!!

Me and Adam have to laugh because she reminds us of the kid off the Christmas Story. She can't hardly move!

We woke up Monday morning to 6 inches of snow! It was so pretty! Adam happened to be off so that was good because he wouldn't have attempted to go into work. I cooked a big breakfast of chocolate gravy, biscuits and bacon. We just laid around most of the day. Ava just got over a little cold and I was afraid to let her out in it much. I have to admit during her morning nap I snuck out. I am so a kid at heart. These guys in our neighborhood made me so jealous. They were pulling each other with four wheelers and making it look SO fun! Adam went out when he woke up. He threw snow balls at the window for Ava to see! She thought that was hilarious. She would say "Daddy throw ball". We took her out for just a little bit. Bless her heart she could hardly walk in it because it was so deep. I measured about 6 inches in the front yard, but it was more like 8 inches in the back yard. I remember a snow in 1993 that was awesome and I think this one is even better! I made snow cream, and Ava loved it. I remember it being better as a kid. :)

So after our day full of fun and relaxing we settled in to a nice warm meal. I made homemade vegetable soup. It hit the spot on such a cold snowy day!

Reminder

Just a friendly reminder to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. :) I was woken up at 4am Sunday morning by a LOUD siren going off in my house. I think my heart jumped out of my chest. I jumped up and went running through the house to see if there was smoke or fire. NOTHING!!!! My stupid smoke detector was possessed. It was in my bedroom and I tried my best to not wake up Ava. I closed the door, and took out the battery in it. Its still going off. I finally break down and call dad because I don't know what to do. Adam was working nights. He advised me to get a screw driver and pry it from the wires. I get it off and take it to the garage!!!!
Surprisingly enough Ava slept through it all.
The odd thing is we checked the battery in it and it was better than a new one. So, the moral of my little story is just to check and replace your batteries often. I know these things save lives!!!! I have heard the first of the year is a good time to remember to always check and replace batteries in smoke detectors.

Its 2011 and I love the idea of a new year! 2010 was like any other year....it had its up and downs. My baby turned 1 which brought about walking, talking, and becoming her own little person. We had heartbreaks, but the good outweighs the bad.

I am very excited about this year. Me and Adam have plans for some change. I am always scared to plan too far ahead. I guess life is so uncertain and I don't want to concentrate on the future so much I miss the present. BUT I have a problem doing that. I love to plan and dream. LOL.
I start back to work full time this year. I am very much excited about it, but I am a little sad. I have been so blessed to be at home with Ava for almost 2 years. I look forward to getting back in the work routine. I thrive on the challenges of my job. I am not worried about Ava....she will be with my parents when I work. The only problem with that is how spoiled she will become....***Correction****....how much more spoiled she will become!

I am thankful for Gods blessings on us in 2010. I am certain he will be beside us in 2011!!
