Weekend in ATL

Ok, I am typing this post on Sunday night while riding in the backseat on the way home from Atlanta. I figure I better use all my extra time because after a trip I have laundry and just added stuff to keep me crazy busy. We went to ATL Friday night. I have to say the trip there went great. We waited till it was later and we figured Ava would sleep. She did great! She slept some but played quietly some too. We had a great visit with Adams side of the family. Saturday we went to Aunt Aprils for Shelby's Birthday party. Us girls took a quick trip to the "Sock Shoppe". A place they have been telling me about. I racked up on cheap socks, tights, etc. Saturday night was the singing. It went good. Sunday we went to church then went back to Nana's for dinner. I did manage to sneak in some Tanger Outlet shopping today too :) You would be amazed how much I can accomplish in a short amount of time. I was on a mission to find Ava some warm hats and mittens for our Gatlinburg trip in November. His family probably thinks I am some crazed shopaholic but what they don't understand is we live in Scottsvegas....the town of no shopping :)
We have to drive at least 45 minutes to go to any decent store....especially for kids.
Our trip home wasn't as quiet. Ava screamed bloody murder for the first hour. We even pulled over thinking she might just need a break. NO she was just pitching a fit :) We endured it though and she fell asleep.

Pumpkin Patch and First Tooth

Wednesday we visited the pumpkin patch. Martha and Kyndall went with us. We had such a great time. Ava was mesmerized by the other kids and all the activity going on around her. She sat in her stroller a lot just watching. She loved the baby swing and hay ride. She was terrified of the corn bin. :) We waited till it was empty and sat her in it for a quick photo op but she was so scared of it. It was a long day. We were all exhausted. We grabbed some McDonalds on our way home.
It was such a pretty day. It was nice and sunny. When we got home I realized me and Ava were both sunburned!!!!! I felt like the worse mom in the world to let her get sunburned. I thought I had kept her covered up but I guess not. Bless her heart she is going to have her mothers complexion. Even after all those prayers I prayed for her to have skin like her father.
Oh and she has her first tooth. Its just coming through the gum. I wanted to get a picture but I will have to wait till it comes in more.

Hiding from Mommy

Today my princess is 7 months old!!! Where does the time go?

I am posting pictures of her today in one of her Halloween outfits and some other pics from recently.
She can't get on all fours and crawl but she sure can get around these days.

Kensley

Not much to report in our world these days. I can't even really post about us because everything seems so trivial compared to the reality of a dear family that is close to our hearts. For my Friends that don't already know they were on their way home from Disney World and had a horrible accident. Everyone is ok but the precious little girl, Kensley. She is in a bad condition in the hospital down there in Florida. She has head trauma. Please PRAY for her recovery and for this family. I can't even imagine if it were Ava. Every time I think about it I get teary eyed and upset.
I know if it were Ava I would want everyone taking it SO seriously!!!!

"DaDa"

This morning as I was laying in bed just hoping and praying Ava would go back to sleep I heard her first word...."DaDa". It was very clear. I couldn't deny it, even after all the coaxing I had done for her to say "Mama". Oh well it was sweet. I wish Adam could have heard it. He tried to get her to say it again but she hasn't yet.

The Poop Incident

OK, so I have had many poop incidents since her birth but this one calls for a post. Last night after church we made it home in spite of all the messy rain and such. Adam was working nights so it was a girls night. I got her in her pjs and in her exersaucer so I could fix me a bite to eat. She was just playing and doing great so I let her play. After a bit I got her and was going to feed her some cereal. I suddenly got a feel of something wet on her leg and I was like oh no she spit up. So I turn her around to discover poop soaked through her pjs and all over her. So no big deal I just take her to her room and lay her down on her changing table. When I realize how bad of a poop this is I decide a bath is in order. So I start running bath water, but in the mean time I have to clean up the poop on her so I can put her in the bath. It was like it started multiplying. I got poop all over her changing pad that is WHITE. It was on her back, legs, feet, my pjs, her exersaucer.....EVERYWHERE. So then I transfer her to the bathtub. She is in this stage where she likes to sit up but she has to lean over to balance herself. She can't sit up by herself yet. As she is playing I think ok I just need to wash her up, but I don't need to wash her hair so I was avoiding laying her down. I go to get some soap on her washcloth just inches away and she topples over over. Of course there is only a little bit of water but it scared us both!!! I am just like lord help me tonight. I am so ready to get us both in bed. Then I realize after all the cleanup is over that she had prunes for supper. NO more prunes unless we need some pooping help in a major way!!! I also had major laundry to do and disinfecting because I am OCD about poop.
