Busy but rewarding week

Last Sunday started revival at our church. It was very good. There is a lot of work and labor that goes into it but its so worth it. I am running on fumes today.....I had to work all week except Tuesday (which was my day to cook/clean). I enjoyed seeing God bless and seeing people that I haven't seen, well probably since revival last year. :) Unfortunately it was cancelled after Wednesday night due to a lady in our church passing away. We all knew she was really bad,and kind of expected her to not make it though the week. We did have one person to give their life to God. It was precious. She is so happy!!!

The house is coming along SO fast. I just want to hug these framers. They are the BEST workers I think I have ever met. They work a long day and then work most Saturdays. They have got so much done since my last post. Its completely framed up, roof on (except shingles), tyvec wrap all around the outside, windows in, and some of the plumbing roughed in. We have so much to pick out and decide. Most of my time away from work is consumed by meeting with contractors, going to Home Depot a million times a day, or looking online for stuff. Its fun though....I am not complaining at all.

Framing

Picture from last night

Picture I took last Saturday night.

This framing process is going faster than I anticipated. I am actually behind on my pictures. We drove over last night. I hadn't been back since last Saturday, so I was surprised how much had got accomplished. We have stairs and the start of a roof :)

Shopping fun

We had a shopping day Saturday followed by the tour of homes. It was sooo hot. We went to Bridgestreet because there were a few stores I wanted to go to. I love that shopping center but it isn't made for hot/cold weather. We scorched. Ava enjoyed going near the water fountains. We ate at that restaurant near the movie theater. I can't remember the name...something Smokey. I don't recommend it. I was disappointed in the food!!!!

Sunday we scorched again at a decoration at Higdon. It was nice seeing all the family though!!

The house is coming right a long. Adam drove over there Friday night just to check it out. He was SHOCKED to find out from lunch till then the whole bottom floor was pretty much framed in. We of course had to go check it out in detail Saturday night. I could actually walk through rooms and picture the end result. It was SO exciting!! Ava has discovered this place we keep going is super fun!!! All she knows is there are a ton of rocks and dirt and sand. She always manages to be completely covered when we leave. I have learned to just leave a box of wipes in the SUV. :)

Happy Late Memorial Day

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day. We did. We spent the day at the church grilling and just playing. We let the kids get in the slip and slide. I had Ava a bathing suit, but the kids were so excited they didn't want to take the time to put them on. That is why she is in a sagging diaper and shirt :) It was so hot that day!!!

I had pictures to share of the progress of the house but my phone decided not to email. So maybe next time.

Its so exciting to see this house coming to reality. I spent so many months looking at it on the internet and then looking at the actual set of plans. Its pretty funny that me and Adam get so excited when we drive over there and we are like "oh there is a block that wasn't there yesterday". It just seems like it took so long to get started. We are so happy of any progress. They have finished the footing and block. Now they are working on the framing!

Exciting News!

We are building a house!!!! This LOOOONNNG process has been going on since last summer really. It really seems like a long time since I am so anxious! We have been looking for a larger house for some time. Last year we realized that building might be a better option. I just wasn't sure if we could do it. Me being the planner and OCD person like I am, I had to really analyze everything and make myself sick over it. Well the good Lord above worked it all out in his time and just the right way. It amazes me how God sees in the future and works things out just right. God proved me to in the Fall of last year that we could do this. In the last 2 months he really opened my eyes and I saw just how well he worked things out.
So the lot is cleared and ready. They started the footing yesterday and we are beyond excited. It is in Scottsboro!! :)

After the tornados and devastation I was feeling very guilty over the whole thing. I know it was something we were planning way before the tornados came along, but I still felt it was trivial compared to the loss some were experiencing. That is why I am just now blogging about it. I don't want to take for granted what God has gave us!!!!

I am sure I will keep you all updated!!

Power restored

I am SO glad to say our power is restored. I am so grateful to all those workers working around the clock. I appreciate them so much!!
I am back to work today and its been a zoo. I have been so thankful and happy to be at work. God has ways of making us appreciate things. Lord knows I am appreciating things much more today than I did last Wednesday.

I was sad to find out one of our employee's lost his 13 year old son in the storms. My heart just broke!!!!! I can't even fathom that.

You know you hear of such bad things in this world, but these hard times show me how many good people are out there. I was shopping in Belk while we were in ATL picking up some household items for a family that lost their home. We are having a household shower for them tomorrow night. Anyways, I ran into a lady I knew and was telling her about it. After I walked away a different lady came up to me and just gave me money to give to the family. She said she over heard me and wanted to help but had no clue who they were. I literally had to hold back tears.
