The Poop Incident

OK, so I have had many poop incidents since her birth but this one calls for a post. Last night after church we made it home in spite of all the messy rain and such. Adam was working nights so it was a girls night. I got her in her pjs and in her exersaucer so I could fix me a bite to eat. She was just playing and doing great so I let her play. After a bit I got her and was going to feed her some cereal. I suddenly got a feel of something wet on her leg and I was like oh no she spit up. So I turn her around to discover poop soaked through her pjs and all over her. So no big deal I just take her to her room and lay her down on her changing table. When I realize how bad of a poop this is I decide a bath is in order. So I start running bath water, but in the mean time I have to clean up the poop on her so I can put her in the bath. It was like it started multiplying. I got poop all over her changing pad that is WHITE. It was on her back, legs, feet, my pjs, her exersaucer.....EVERYWHERE. So then I transfer her to the bathtub. She is in this stage where she likes to sit up but she has to lean over to balance herself. She can't sit up by herself yet. As she is playing I think ok I just need to wash her up, but I don't need to wash her hair so I was avoiding laying her down. I go to get some soap on her washcloth just inches away and she topples over over. Of course there is only a little bit of water but it scared us both!!! I am just like lord help me tonight. I am so ready to get us both in bed. Then I realize after all the cleanup is over that she had prunes for supper. NO more prunes unless we need some pooping help in a major way!!! I also had major laundry to do and disinfecting because I am OCD about poop.

Uncle Jeremy visits and A Mommy Day

Friday Uncle Jeremy came to visit. We haven't seen him since Mother's Day. Needless to say he spent the whole day practically holding Ava and playing with her. We had such a great day. We grabbed some lunch, took a walk, and just enjoyed our precious time together. Its hard to describe to an only child how it feels to have a sibling. You are connected in ways that sometimes surprise yourself. I was really glad to see him and catch up.

Today was Mommy Day!! Nana and Paw paw Estes called and asked if they could come and take Ava to a family reunion in Tennessee. Adam was sleeping because he was working nights so I told them that was fine. Afterwards I got excited because I realized I had a few hours to myself. Of course you all know what I did......SHOPPED!! Its been months since I shopped alone and for myself. It felt great. I even enjoy the simple things like riding in the car by myself and blasting the radio and singing at the top of my lungs. Yes I admit I do that!! Don't get me wrong, I love my child but time alone is something I always enjoyed and haven't had any in such a long time. I found me some clothes and of course Ava some stuff too. I also enjoyed lunch at the Atlanta Bread Co. I love eating there but never get it unless I am by myself because Adam doesn't like it. It was so yummy.....half an Italian vegetarian sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup.

Another Death

We visit the funeral home way to much! My dear uncle Donald finished his fight earlier today. Well he is dad's uncle but growing up I always called him uncle Donald. They were more like brothers because they were so close in age, and they were really close. He was so sweet and loving. He would always want a hug when he saw me! He will be missed but he is so much better off.

Ava isn't feeling good today! I guess from her shots yesterday. She has been kind of whiny and sleeping a lot more than usual.

Ava's 6 month dr. appt.

Today was suppose to be a great day of shopping and then taking Ava to her 6 month checkup. I won't even go into how my day was. I don't like being negative and I don't like hearing negative people so anyways.....

Ava is growing great. She weighs 15 lbs and 8 oz. She is 27 inches long. She is in the 62% for her height and 11% for her weight. What that equates to is she is tall and lean according to Dr. Patz. She had to get 3 shots and one oral. She did great though. She cries at the initial shot but then she gets over it fast. Ava smiled at the nurse and she was like "wow, we don't get many of those". We go back in a month to get her second dose of her flu shot.

A fun day

We had such a fun day. Adam is off all week and we are enjoying some quality time together. He is working shift work now so he works a lot. The good thing about it is he has a lot of time off too. We went to the park and fed the ducks. Ava loves watching them. She also loves the wind blowing the trees...such a simple thing. :) The weather is so awesome today. I love it!! I put out some of my Fall decorations too. We did my nomal Monday grocery shopping too. We came home and Adam mowed the yard. We also grilled steak, which I rarely do. I usually grill chicken, pork, or shrimp.
And yes as you can see from the pics Ava is already in her Halloween outfits. I LOVE Halloween! :)
As for our weekend....We did some late birthday celebrating for Adam. Friday night mom/dad took us out to H'ville to eat. Saturday we chilled because of all that rain. I hate taking her out in that mess. We just lazed around and did stuff around the house. Saturday after the rain cleared we went to Ft. Payne to try a place called Santa Fe. Adam had been wanting to try it. It was ok. Sunday we had a family reunion. That is always nice catching up with the family.

Happy Birthday Adam!

Today is my dear husband's birthday!!!!

For his Birthday I asked him what kind of cake he wanted me to make. He said he didn't really care so I figured I would make him a strawberry cream cheese pie. He loves them!!! I always make them for church and he always complains that I don't make them to just keep at home to eat. So I made him a whole pie for himself. I am really trying to not eat any of it. I licked the bowl though :) hehe

See my lovely cake decorating ability in the picture above. I ran out of space and filling.

No in all seriousness...I am so thankful for a loving husband. He lets me be who I am, but challenges me at the same time. The Lord knew I needed a laid back kind of partner. I can't take those type husbands that are demanding and "I am the man of the house" type. Marriage is a partnership not a dictatorship.

We are planning on going out Saturday for his Birthday since he is working 12 hour days this week. I am excited!

Our Loss His Gain

We lost a dear Friend yesterday, Sister Margaret Sutton. She was the sweetest lady!!! She had been in a hard battle with cancer. You know how you have special memories of some people. Well I remember very clearly when I got married she helped us. My bridesmaids dresses were a deep purple. I wanted the punch to match the dresses. I wasn't demanding or bridezilla about it, I had just mentioned it. Well she knew that and she and another lady worked for hours perfecting the purple punch. It was SOOO good too!
We are off to the funeral home tonight to show our respects.
I am sad she is gone but so glad her battle is over and she can finally rest.
