UGH...medicine

I know that modern medicine has come so far but seriously????
My doctor prescribed me these antibiotics to take a few weeks ago. Its another shot at fixing all these stomach issues I have. Now he thinks I may have a serious bacterial infection in my lower abdominal wall. (whatever that means) I told him "Hey i am going on vacation so would it be ok if I waited to take them when I get home?" I know how medicine sometimes makes you more sick than you were. He was like sure so yesterday was my first day of them. Thank God I didn't take them on vacation. I ate a small snack with it and didn't think nothing about it. Well about 30 minutes later I am so nauseous....and it lasts pretty much all day. In addition to NO energy, stomach cramps, headaches, and more you don't want to know about. Thankfully Adam was off and he let me nap and lay around while he took care of Ava. I felt awful all day. It finally wore off about 4 or 5. I whined around like a baby last night when it came time to take the next pill. Adam made me eat more with it and guess what it worked. I slept great last night and was able to get up and come to work today. I ate a good breakfast and took my morning pill about an hour ago and so far so good.
So the lesson is take more than just a piece of cake or a saltine with medicine that is so strong!!!

Myrtle Beach Trip

first time in ocean

pool time

First time in sand
Wow, I have a lot to update. So I am forewarning you this is going to be a long post. Exit now if you please :) Sorry if I am too long winded but all of the details are mainly for my benefit so I can look back years from now.
We loaded up the SUV and left out Friday the 30th. We drove to ATL to Adams parents house. We decided it would be a good break in the long drive and a good chance to see them. We spent that afternoon with everyone and grabbed some Mexican. I drove from their house to Thomson GA....about a 2 hour drive. I was sooo tired because we all know I go to bed before 10pm usually. Ava finally stopped watching her DVD and fell asleep. Adam got her out of the car seat and was able to put her in bed with her not waking up. We met our good Friends there, Wayne and Beth Denson....and their two boys. Ava slept all night and did great! I was worried about getting her to sleep in the hotel and keeping her in a big bed all night. We grabbed a quick bite and then drove on to Myrtle Beach. It was about 4 hours from there. We stopped once to eat. The drive was good. Ava did WONDERFUL. She either played with her toys or watched her DVD player. (I want to hug whoever invented that). We arrived to a crowded MB around 2:30.

Let me just say we chose MB because of the oil in the Gulf. Well the gulf is fine and that made us sick to hear. We unloaded and unpacked and organized. That afternoon we roamed around and ate at Joes Crab Shack. It was a fun place with ok food. We got groceries at a Walmart that I NEVER want to return to. You would have thought it was Black Friday in there. CRAZY!!!!
Ava slept great the whole time we were there!!!!!
Sunday we all woke up so pumped to go on the beach for the first time. I woke up first to a rainy site. :( We were all disappointed. We decided to go to Tanger and shop. Wouldn't you know about an hour into our shopping the sun comes out. So we finish up our lunch and shopping and head back to the Condo. We get ready and go to the beach. Ava loved it!!! She would stare at her feet kicking the sand in front of her. It was so cute. She liked the water too. We were all disappointed in the beach there. We are used to soft white sand and crystal waters in the Gulf. This beach was number one super crowded and the sand was HOT and Shelly. The water wasn't clear and as pretty. OH well it was nice being on the beach in general. We had some fun and then moved to the pool. Ava enjoyed getting in and out of the pool rather than just staying inside it. That night we ate at a place called Fillets. They said it was kid friendly but they didn't even have lids for the cups! The food was ok. I had crab cakes but they were so rich I couldn't eat much of them. After dinner they grabbed ice cream on the boardwalk. Elijah spotted an amusement park so we went in there and they rode some stuff. Ava rode the Carousel for the first time. She LOVED it. She cried when adam took her off.

Monday we woke up to SUN. We took the kids to the roof top pool area. It was super neat. It had a lazy river, kiddy pool and regular pool. We enjoyed that. Wow, a beach trip with kids is sooo different than what I am used to. Your schedule revolves our their naps! What happened to laying on the beach listening to my Ipod or reading a book? Ava took a nap and we got ready to go to Broadway on the Beach. This is a HUGE outdoor shopping center surrounding a lake. We shopped and let the kids play in the amusement area. Ava LOVES the Carousel. She rode like 3 times. :) We then ventured over the Speedway track and Elijah rode race cars while Ava played inside in the Arcade. She had a blast and won 75 tickets....with mine and Adams help of course. We had supper at TBonz and it was pretty good. We got stuck in major traffic on the way home......so we all took detours and surprised ourselves with how good we navigated our way back. We would have been sitting for hours.

Tuesday Ava woke up early and by the time we all got ready for the beach it was her nap time. So thanks to Adam I got to spend about 2 hours on the beach and at the pool with no kid. That was nice. I read some and listened to Pandora Radio. It was awesome! She came out later and played in the pool. We did some more shopping and then came back to the Condo to take some sunset pictures. Then off to a great dinner at a Crab place. I finally got me some good crab legs!!! YUMO! We enjoyed our dinner a lot that night. Then off to the condo to pack up. The kids went down and we all just enjoyed our quiet night.
Wednesday we packed up and ate at a Pancake house on the way out. From here our luck kind of turns sour. Along the ride home a rock hits our windshield and makes a large place in it. It makes me sick to my stomach. We made a pretty good trip home. Ava done great. We stopped in ATL to spend the night. Ava had a rough night and didn't sleep good. I was sick. Then the next morning our car battery goes dead at a gas station in that 90 degree humid ATL weather! I was praying someone would offer help because we were going to have to wait a while before anyone could get to us. So not long after I was praying a nice man comes along and asks if we need help. My mind goes back to on our way up here we stopped at a gas station and while I was inside a man asks Adam for some gas. Adam felt bad for the man and got his gas can and filled it to the rim. The man was so thankful! I was like yep Lord you are just repaying his good deed. So we stopped and got a new battery. We met Adams sister and two girls at OCharley's for lunch. It was nice getting time with them. Ava adores them. Then on to one of my favorite stores!!!! I got 2 new diaper bags, a wallet ( which I already broke trying to put too much stuff inside), jewelry and Ava some hair bows. WOW that made me feel better! LOL
We got home last night and it felt so good to be home. We unpacked and I started laundry.
Today I am already caught up with laundry and that feels great!!
So all in all we had a great trip and Ava loved the Beach. If Ava is happy we are happy :)

Catch up

I really didn't mean to let a whole week go by without posting. OH well I did so lets catch up. Last week it was so hot we didn't do much of anything outside. Adam worked nights. I was sick Thursday night. I am thinking a 24 hour bug. I laid around Friday and didn't want to eat or do anything.....very rare for me :) LOL

Adam breaks his glasses for the millionth time. Its like he always breaks them before something big is going to happen. Let me take you back to August 18th, 2005 (the day before our wedding). He breaks his glasses and is literally down in Huntsville the morning of our wedding getting his glasses fixed. I was beyond stressed!!!! So then he breaks them Friday....we have pictures Saturday at church. They are making a book of all the members. We couldn't get him a eye appointment or any glasses before the pictures so he just looked weird without them. He can see good without them. He just needs them for reading. So in addition to his glasses dilemma Ava's eye turns red Friday. I am scared to death its pink eye. I couldn't get her a dr. appointment. So our family portrait is going to be lovely.....Adam without his glasses and Ava with a red eye. I looked lovely though :) LOL!

We had a rough night Friday with Ava. I guess she was not feeling good or something. We were both up a lot during the night. Adam was up most of the time because his body was still on nights mode. Saturday morning I thought I would be all productive and I went to mow the yard while Ava was napping. I thought I was being nice and letting Adam sleep. OH goodness it was miserable hot even at 9am. It was high and after I cut it, it looked bad because I didn't bag it so I raked it up. By this time my heart is pounding and my face is blood red. I was like that's it. I came inside before I passed out. Adam finished it later that day. Our pictures at church were good. I think the photographer got some really good pictures. He was sooo good with Ava. She loved it. She was saying "Cheese".

Sunday was church and a nice day with my family!
Ava's eye cleared up Sunday so I am thinking it was just irritated or something.

Yesterday Adam had an eye appointment and I had a dr. appointment all in Huntsville. I thought oh yeah that will work out perfect. WRONG!!! He was in the "Express" eye place for over 2 hours. There was nothing Express about it. The customer service was AWFUL. Oh and we leave with NO glasses. They had to order them. Why in the world they say hour express I am not clear. So we were late for my appointment....which isn't a big deal since I ended up waiting an hour anyways. We ended the trip with stops to Costco, BabysRus, and a good meal at Longhorn. YUM! It was a long exhausting day.

Family

poor grandma trying to hold squirmy Ava

Our weekend was full of family and fun. Friday afternoon Jeremy (my brother) came home for a visit. He spent the whole afternoon with me and Ava. We laughed at old times and the fact that Ava is so much like us. She laughs when people fall and we both have always done that. Of course after we found out they were ok. :) Adam was working :( We just stayed around here and ate and laughed a lot. Saturday we all went to breakfast at McDonald's. Then we headed back home to let Ava nap and let me get ready. Saturday afternoon we went to my grandparents 90Th Birthday parties. We are very close to them. They are so funny! Every year at their birthdays I tell myself "OK this might be their last birthday so hug them and tell them you love them". I try to do that all the time not just on their birthdays. I am just so glad they both are still around to see Ava. They adore her and she has warmed up to them...She will kiss them. It was a nice party full of food and family memories. Ava on the other hand was bored because there was nothing to play with and she was tired!!! We had to sneak out early cause she was having melt down. Sorry I didn't stay to help clean! :( Then we came home for her to nap some more. That night we went to a Friends house. Ava had fun playing with her buddies.

Sunday we spent more time with Jeremy before he left. We ate dinner and then he went on his way. Sunday night we went to Big Cove to church....Bro. Shirley is running revival there this week. It was good!!

Another week of summer

watering my plants....she watches me do it all the time
sleeping in Walmart

I am enjoying my summer.....really I am. Even though I complain sometimes about the heat or being busy. Monday Adam was in bed since he worked nights so I decided to get out of the house. I took Ava to McDonalds for lunch and met up with Friends. Ava ate good and I actually let her play on the playground. I haven't really done that much yet. I am scared of germs and she really can't climb up the equipment. She had fun just running around...FREE. I ran errands to CVS and Walmart. I am trying the whole coupon thing and ECB at CVS. I was excited to see how much I saved. Poor Ava was exhausted by the time we got to Walmart. She actually feel asleep in the cart. I was SHOCKED. This kid loves Walmart and doesn't miss a beat.

Tuesday I had to run to Huntsville to take some stuff to the labs so I called up my good Friend Stephanie, and we made a day of it. She brought her daughter, Emma. Emma calls Ava "A-UH". Its cute! The girls had so much fun together. Ava thought it was hilarious because Emma was kicking my seat. She was trying to reach it, but fell a little short :) So I did my errand and we went to lunch at Logans. We had to arrive as soon as the bottom fell out of the sky. It was pouring. We looked hilarious I am sure, all four of us were soaked. I had to take towels to Ava's hair. Lunch was good and we spent the next little bit shopping. It was so nice!! The kids did great.

Wednesday we had a day at home. I cleaned and organized and Adam worked out in the yard. I also cooked dinner. Lately we have been on the run, or working around Adam's crazy schedule so we have been eating out more. I did grilled steaks, yeast rolls, green beans, and scalloped cheesy potatoes. That night we decided to go to church at Old Sardis. It had been a while since we had been. It was nice seeing old Friends and enjoying a good service. We ate out with some Friends afterwards.

Days like Monday through Wednesday make me so glad that I am working part time. Its so nice to be able to just pick up and do whatever. I am trying to soak it all up and enjoy it now. All good things must come to an end. :) I will be going back full time by next year.

I am working today!

Wedding and party

Me and Sunshine

Sunshine and Mike

Adam chatting it up

So Thursday me and Adam had a wedding to go to. It was at the Annabella Plantation in Huntsville. It was one of my best friends, Sunshine. Lord I could tell you soooo many funny stories about us. I practically grew up around her. We had so many fun times!!! She is the kind of person you can be having a horrible day and just be around her and she brightens it up. We both love to laugh so when we get together we have SO much fun. So anyways, she got married Thursday. It was a pretty and simple ceremony. I have to admit I got a little emotional. I think it was just that we have been through so much together and I want her to be happy. She would have to pick the hottest day of the summer. It was 100 degrees. At least it was under shade trees. Thank the Lord for Mom. She kept Ava and I am sooo glad she did. Ava would have never lasted outside.

So after that me and Adam seized the moment and ate dinner at Connors. It was yummy as usual. I did some shopping in Bridgestreet. Then we went to Verizon and got new phones. I promise it felt like we were in there an hour or two. We both got Droids and we are both obsessed with them. I love all the cool things I can do with it.
Friday night we had a birthday party to attend. Ava loved being around the kids. Even though it rained it out the kids had a blast. Good food and good Friends!! She had her first lollipop too. :)

Today I got up and went to yard sales since Ava decided to wake up at 6:30 :( I found her a backyardigans guitar. It was SOOO worth a $1. She loves that show and she loves music. We met Adam for breakfast. Today we have a baby shower to go to and then church tonight. It will be a busy day!

July 4th

Saturday I did some shopping with mom. That afternoon we grilled out at moms. Ava loves playing outside at their house. They light tiki torches and she thinks it is so neat. She got in her little pool and had a blast. The pics are at my house before we left. She got in the water when I was watering my plants. :) We bought her a little pool for our house but have yet to blow it up. After me and Adam both tried blowing it up ourselves and almost passed out we decided to take it up to the gas station and blow it up.

Sunday we didn't do much. Church was canceled.
Yesterday I started my day with a dentist appointment (no cavities). We went to our Friends house and had a cookout. It was so much fun. Ava literally played all day. She was so wore out. She got in the pools and played on the slip and slides among all the other toys. She also pigged out and ate way more than she normally does. She ate a whole hot dog(never done that), potato salad and some corn. Then of course she loved the homemade ice cream. The guys went and bought tons of fireworks. After a long fun filled day we sat down to a beautiful array of fireworks. Ava watched the first few in awe...then the screams started. So we spent the rest of the night inside getting baths and cleaning up.
