Adventures and Company this week

We have had such a busy week! Me and Ava had a busy first part of the week. We went to the park one day and just chilled. It feels so good being outside!! She loves watching the ducks. Ducks beware when Ava starts walking :) Wednesday I gathered up some old clothes we don't wear and thought it would be a great idea to take them to the consignment shop. I could always use extra cash. So I go on my merry way and wow when I get there I realize everyone else had the same idea. It was crowded. So there I am with Ava in her car seat and me with a hand full of cloths on hangers which are sliding off my arm every few minutes. I stand in line for about an hour or so. When I get up to the counter I realize they are running out of money but I am thinking ok, I will probably get about $20-$30 for what I have. I had name brand nice clothes...some haven't even been worn. The lady flips through my pile and was like "Sorry I don't see anything I can use". Mind you I see EVERYONE in front of me getting money left and right. WHEW, I had to breath and really think about my actions. I will be nice. I will be nice. I will be nice. What kind of person watches another person struggle with a baby and hand full of clothes for an hour?????? I would have been happy with a few dollars. It was just the concept of standing in line that long with Ava. I just get all my clothes and leave. As I left I was glad I didn't say anything rude but that temper in me really wanted to :)

Ok, off my soapbox....

Wednesday night Adams sister, April and her two kids, McKenzie and Shelby came over. They were in the area and wanted to stay with us. They stayed with us till Friday. Ava loves playing with those girls and they love it too. She is getting so much fun to play with!!

She has had a cough this week. I am really hoping she isn't going to have allergies like her dad.

Oh and just for the record I am still in love with my new vehicle :) I was like huhhh where can Me and Ava go just because I wanted to drive it. LOL

Finally a new vehicle!!!!!

Well after 8 years and probably 150000 miles on ole Lexy it was time for something newer!! I have had car fever for years but just kept putting it off. We finally decided it was time. I was afraid Lexy was going to break down on the side of the road one day and I would have Ava with me. We went car shopping last weekend and on my way to Hville I passed this vehicle. I was like that surely wasn't what I thought it was. I was driving pretty fast and I zoomed by it. So I just made a quick U turn and surely enough my eyes weren't playing tricks. It was love at first sight. Its a Lexus GX (the larger SUV). Its called Blue/Gray Meca. I love that the color is different. I called the owner and he asked where I was and I told him. He laughed and said we haven't' had that there but about 2 hours if that. It was fate or so I like to think. We drove it and of course loved it. We went ahead to Hville but couldn't find anything!!!!! Well to make a long story short over Sunday and Monday we agreed and made plans to buy it. Friday we went and picked it up. Me and Adam fight over who drives it. I was like this is my car and what happened to "I would rather have a navigator". He changed his mind fast when he got in it. It only has about 35500 miles on it. One of our favorite things is the backup video screen. When you put it in reverse it comes up on the screen what is behind you. I love that!!!! Ok, enough I could go on and on about this vehicle.

Saturday night me and Adam went to Chattanooga to J Alexanders. Its our late anniversary dinner. We love this place! Mom kept Ava. She loves spending time with her. Our dinner was soo good. We always order the spinach dip for appetizer. That stuff alone could be my meal. Then I had pasta and Adam had steak. It was yummy! We went didn't do much else but we got a Starbucks and drank it outside. The weather was amazing!!! It is feeling like Fall.

Hopefully I will post pics of my ride soon!!!!!!

4 Year Anniversary!

Today is mine and Adams 4 Year Anniversary! That seems so crazy. In ways it feels like its been more than 4 years and sometimes it doesn't. We started dating the summer of 2000 after I graduated from High School. I remember exactly the place we were and everything from that night. He asked me out after church. I was so excited!!! We didn't know each other at all hardly. We dated off and on for 5 years. :) YES I know its a long time but I don't regret my decisions. I wanted to be sure because Marriage is a lifelong thing. I was talked about and frowned upon for breaking up with him so many times. I still stand behind my decisions!!

We usually don't do big gifts and such. We usually just go out to eat and do cards. This year it just so happens I am getting a new vehicle.....hopefully Friday. So Happy Anniversary to me!!!

Its also a tradition to drink sparkling grape juice out of our silver goblets we used in the Wedding. This year with a baby and all I forgot all about the juice. Oh well!! We exchanged cards. We are going out to eat Saturday night to one of our favorite places, J Alexanders in Chattanooga. We love it. I cooked ham, garlic mashed potatoes, and broccoli and cheese tonight for dinner. Its not like there are any nice romantic restaurants in Sboro.

5 Months Old

Sunday Ava was 5 Months old. My my where does time go? In ways it feels like its been 5 months or more but to look at her I can't believe she is already 5 months. Weird I know! I can't explain it. We always do pictures every month to capture her growth and look. She changes so much. She still has those blue eyes though. My fingers are crossed that she keeps them. I love the second picture because it looks like she is really pondering something.
She has definitely found her voice too. She squeals all the time. Its fine when we are here at the house because its just us...but out in church or at a restaurant I get worried people are like shut your child up :) Hopefully they understand. She has also started singing when we are in the car. Its so hilarious. Its like she is singing along with me...only with squeals and such.
For dinner I am about to make shrimp scampi, green beans and mac and cheese. I know its a weird mixture but it works for us. I am trying to eat healthier so I am making me a salad with balsamic vinegar dressing minus mac and cheese. I might even get around to a walk tonight!

Story Time

So every day I try to read to AH. I love reading and I really enjoy that time with her. She has got to the point now where she will sit and be quiet and just listen. Its so sweet. Tonight we read a book my brother, Jeremy, got for her. He bought her alot of old books we used to read as children. When he gave them to me they brought back so many memories. Its so funny how you remember things from so long ago in your childhood. I love reading them. I think I am enjoying them more than her :) When I read to her I add stuff and sometimes throw in a tune......I think that helps keep her attention. Its funny when I am here by myself and reading or singing I find myself making up stories and songs. After I say them I am like that made no sense at all. I guess all that matter is Ava loves it.
I included a pic of Ava in her new highchair for the first time. She loves it. It rolls really easily and she loves being rolled around. Yesterday I had a hard day with her, she was gassy and stuff. I rolled her around the living room and kitchen and she just laughed and laughed. Hey you do whatever works when you are having an off day.

Tired

Wow, I didn't mean to let a week go by without posting. Time flys. Well last week was busy. Wednesday we went to the church playground and met some Friends. It was a great day. Not too hot and enjoyable. I will include some pics of our fun day. She loved it. Friday night a girl at our church Kayla got married so we went to that. Ava did great. I was a little scared taking a baby to a wedding. I know I cringe when I hear babies cry alot during weddings and funerals. She did great! She slept mostly. Saturday we had errands to run and nana (my mom) watched her for a bit. Saturday afternoon Adams mom/dad stopped by and stayed with us. Of course we know who they came to see :) Ava slept from 9:45-6:30 that night. I was so proud. I woke up and woke Adam up asking if he got up during the night and fed her :) When he said no I kind of got alarmed and hurried to her room to check. She was still asleep. Sunday morning my father in law took some pics of Ava when she first woke up. The first one of her holding her feet is one of them. Sunday we had church and dinner afterwards. Last night she was sooo exhausted from everyone holding her all weekend that I had a hard night getting her to sleep.

Tonight she sat in her new highchair for the first time. She also ate her cereal better. In the past she has not liked it. I changed to a different kind.

On another note....we are in the process of getting a new vehicle. We decided its time. It will be hard to say goodbye to good ole Lexy. We are wanting a SUV but not sure which one. I am excited!

Good Weekend

We had a good weekend. Friday night one of our dear Friends little boy was sick so we had prayer at church for him. I talked to her today and he is doing better. We all went to Ruby Tuesdays and ate dinner. Its good to get together! Saturday me and Adam ventured off to Hville to shop. He wanted some new clothes and I needed to pick up a few things. We also bought Ava's highchair. I am so excited to get it. He is suppose to pick it up this week sometime. Ava did so good shopping. She just loves to stare at the lights and people. I need to add I LOVE her stroller too. Its so easy to pop out of the trunk. Saturday night I cooked dinner for some Friends. We had grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, yeast rolls, and ice cream sandwich dessert. Sunday Adams mom and dad called and said they were coming up to Chattanooga to visit some family in the hospital so we met them in S. Pittsburg and ate dinner with them. They could care less about me and Adam. We know who they want to see :) Sunday night we went back to Sboro to church. We had a Birthday party at church for a elder. I am in charge of it so I was stressed out about getting the pizzas, cake, etc. It all turned out fine after some issues. I had a lingerie shower to go to last night.
Ava is still sleeping in her crib. Today she took a two hour nap. I had to check on her because she never sleeps that long!!
