Fun times at Bridgestreet.

Happy Late Easter!

I started my Easter weekend with having a day off work Friday. I love that my boss observes Good Friday as a paid Holiday off. Love it! Me and Ava had a girls day. We went to eat at her choice and shopped some at Bridgestreet. She enjoyed a cookie and a drum band. She loves music and these guys were getting down. She loved it. I bought a token for the carousel and she refused....oddly enough. I think she thought she had to choose between that and a cookie :)

Adam had bad luck Friday and Saturday. His truck broke down Friday when he got to the entrance of the plant. He was able to get it towed home and fix it himself. (proud of him) He saved us an additional $200-300 labor. Then he left his phone at a gas station on his way home in the tow truck. Thankfully the attendant called me and he went back to get it. Saturday he managed to lock his keys in his truck :) Don't tell him I told. We had a Friend that does stuff like that so he helped us out. Saturday we had to make a trip back to Hville. Adam returned his new phone. He hated it and exchanged it for something else. We ate lunch and went to Bridgestreet again. Ava was still talking about the Drums. They weren't there though. We ate ice cream and she rode the carousel.

The Easter bunny came to see Ava Sunday morning. He brought her some books. I seriously don't go overboard with that. I want Ava to understand the true meaning of Easter. I sat her down Saturday night and told her what Easter meant. It was SO sweet during the church service Sunday morning somebody was up talking about the true meaning of Easter, and she started listening then looked up at me and said what is he saying? I reminded her what I told her the night before. She said "oh yeah", like she remembered. We enjoyed church service followed by an Easter egg hunt. Ava loved it.

Adam started his spring outage last week so it means many hours away from home. He missed Easter this year. I know he hated it. We missed him being there. When he got home we piled up on Ava's bed and told him all about our day and showed him pictures and videos.

The age of Technology

I just had to share. I have an Iphone and most people know the newer one comes with an automated woman named "Siri". You can ask her questions and she will reply....when understood. So I am watching TV the night before last and Ava was playing with my phone. She loves to look at pictures, play games, etc. So I look over and she is holding the phone up to her mouth and holding down the button saying "Tell me the Words". I started laughing so hard. I said are you talking to Siri? She replied yes. I have no idea what tell me the words means but in her little mind she was asking a legitimate question. I think she is referring to the words as her alphabet.

Scares me to think what type of phones or technology will be around when she is old enough to actually have her own phone.

Projects

I am always looking for things to make/do. I love getting an idea and carrying through with doing it. I have had tons of ideas floating around in my mind since we moved in the new house. I have soooo much I want to do. It just takes time to execute and find the necessary materials. I found these frames in Hobby Lobby over the weekend. They are actually dry erase boards that I painted. I love them. The frames are so fancy and cute looking. The letters really do look more purple in person, and the green isn't lime. For some reason in the picture the colors look different. I probably don't even have $30 in this project. That is cheap compared to the prices of canvas or pictures that I have almost bought for this area in her room.

I hope to have more projects to show. I have a few more in my head I am trying to work on.

I am loving this weather too. My favorite thing is to have dinner outside on my new patio furniture. Love it.

Ava and Adam (at the wedding)

Ava turned 3 on Friday (March 16). I took the day off from work. I wanted to spend some time with her. Plus Adam was in a wedding Friday night. We just enjoyed our day. We let her pick where she wanted to eat lunch...McDonalds of course :(

Saturday we had a small party at the house. It turned out to be a gorgeous day. She played outside and it was just so relaxing. She got a swing set from me and Adam. We let her see it Wednesday afternoon. She was so surprised. I was so glad to finally get her one, we had planned on it for a while. Mom and Dad got her a bike and a barbie fishing rod (wonder who wanted to get her that? ) Adams parents got her money, books, and a paper doll with stickers. My brother got her an adorable Ballerina outfit. Its so cute!!!! She got a savings bond from my Aunt. Then she got other toys and outfits from her Friends.

At age 3 she is fully potty trained....praise the Lord above. No she was so easy to potty train that it shocked me. She is so full of life and energy. She loves to talk. I mean talk to anyone or anything that listens or doesn't. She play so good by herself. I love her imagination. She can play well with others, but does great by herself. She knows some colors. She can count too. Her vocabulary is expanding every day. Some days I am like "Did she just say that word?" She is so loving and affectionate. She hugs and kisses us every day and tells us she loves us. I know I better enjoy that while it lasts. She loves to run and for you to chase her. Her favorite shows and movies right now are The Lion King, Dora or Diego, anything Princess related still, Team OmiZoomi, and still Fresh Beat Band. She is still picky about what she eats. Her favorite things are chicken nuggets, plain noodles, pizza, string cheese, Danimal smoothies, popcorn, and of course anything sweet. That kid could live off candy and cookies if allowed. She hates any vegetables.

SOLD our other House!!!!

I can't even begin to tell you how happy and relieved this makes me. I guess in our minds we thought we would sale our house within a couple months. I mean its a very cute, well kept, and in a nice neighborhood. Well we were wrong.....over 7 months later it sold. FINALLY!! We had so many calls and people wanting to rent, but nothing serious enough. I had been praying.....diligently. So yes prayer does work!! We showed it to the current owner and she made an offer within one day. We countered back and forth and we finally agreed on a price. I am not sure if I got caught up in the "its sold" feeling that night or what, but the next day I started really regretting our decision. We came down a great deal on our price, but we weren't to the point where we were loosing money. So I was at work and tossing it around in my mind the decision we had made. It came to me what my prayer had been the last few months. "Lord please send somebody that really wants and needs this house". My exact words! Never did I ever mention a price. I got such a good feeling because YES the Lord had answered my prayer to my exact thoughts. So I know God helped us sale that house. It was also validated when at closing yesterday the lady at the Lawyers office said, "I am so surprised how quick and smooth the paperwork has went with this loan. Normally this lender is so slow and never closes this quick." Just another way the Lord let me know it was his will.

Birmingham

I had such a fun girls getaway this weekend. Me and 3 of my Friends went to Birmingham and stayed the night. We went to the huge Craft show they have every year at the BJCC. It was a MUCH needed trip. We had so much fun. I think my cheeks are still sore from laughing so much. It doesn't get much better. Laughter is my favorite medicine. We literally shopped till we dropped. My feet and back were so sore by the end of that trip. I was SO exhausted. We had to hit up Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was so good. I enjoyed it more this trip than I ever have. We all ate so much we had to order our cheesecake to go :)

Sorry I don't have any pictures. We all meant to take some but I guess we were having so much fun we didn't take the time.

We think its going to be an annual thing. I think YES!!!!!

2 Favorites this week

My new Hall Tree!!!!! I have been looking for weeks for the perfect storage solution for this little area in our new house. I didn't want my kitchen counters to be the catch all for my purse, diaper bags, and coats. So I went on a online search for something. This little area is right outside my dining room and across from my kitchen. The garage door we come into the house through is to the right of that Mt Dew box :) Its perfect.....not too big. I think the bottom area will even hold Adams work boots or shoes. I get a little high off finding the perfect piece of furniture and organizing. :)

Ok, my second favorite thing this week. Peanut Butter Chocolate Cheese ball. I found this recipe on my best buddy, Jenny's, Pinterest board. I am always looking for something new and easy. I have a shower to go to tonight and I signed dessert. It turned out great and I hope it goes over good.

The recipe...in case anyone wants to try it.

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup confectioners sugar

3 tablespoons brown sugar

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Beat all that up in a mixer. Then put it in saran wrap and freeze into a ball for about an hour. Take out and roll it in a mixture of peanut butter morsels and chocolate morsels.

Serve with graham sticks, apples, etc.
