Costume time

We made witch hat and ghost cookies for a Halloween party last Friday night.    We dressed up in costume too.  Ava was Cinderella and I was Ariel, the Little Mermaid.  Ava was going to be Dora.  I vetoed that after a trial run Thursday night with the brown hair spray paint.  :(  It was so nasty and messy.  I tested a small section of her hair. Not only did it make a nasty bathtub to clean up afterwards, it was hard to come out of her light colored hair.  So the thought of spraying her whole head flipped me out.  I talked her into being Cinderella.  We had SO much fun.  I love dressing up, and its even more fun when everyone participates.  Ava loved me dressing up as Ariel.  I even adorned my hair with a dinglehopper....aka fork.. for those of you who live under a rock and have never watched the movie :)   The church had 3 big blow up bouncy things to play on, along with tons of food, candy, and fun!!!!

Adam is working his outage so that means LOTS of time at work :(   He wasn't able to go Friday night.  OH well so thankful he has a good job.  I never want to take it for granted.

After a long night.  Cinderella looks tired :)

Saturday night we attended a Bonfire and it was COLD.  We had a blast though.  I layered Ava up and we enjoyed the chilly night.

October stuff

October.  I love this time of year.  I love all the Fall festivals and Halloween parties!!!!!!!

Just random stuff going on.  Ava has finally determined after many changes of her mind to be Dora for Halloween.  She was going to be a witch, princess, Pirate, Butterfly, and now its Dora..   And that is sticking.    So Dora it is.  Sorry guys but I am not dressing up as Boots. :)

We are going to a Halloween party next weekend and I will dress up.  I am not sure what yet but I LOVE to dress up.  The bad thing about it is I can't be anything scary or gross because it freaks Ava out.

Ava went to the local Homecoming Parade in town.  She had so much fun.  Mainly because she got a whole bag of candy :)

I have the most imaginative kid and I love it.  The other night I was in the kitchen cutting up an apple and eating it.  She saw me and ran over to grab a piece.  As soon as she took a bite she fell out in the floor.  I look at her like What the mess?  She lays there and says "you gave me a poison apple".  LOL  Then she said "kiss me"!!  I said if I gave you the apple I am the witch so I can't kiss you.  So of course Adam had to join in the role play and come wake her up from the evil spell :)
Love that innocent imagination.  I remember being young and I could dream up anything.  I am so glad she can do the same

Ava loves wearing my boots.  They are up to her hips :)

Yet again being silly in my boots

Pinterest receipe for Jambalaya.  LOVE that website.  Random I know but I have made so many good recipes for dinner thanks to this website.  Plus it saves a girl so much time!!!!!

We went to a local Fall Festival last night and it was so much fun.   Ava got to play games, ride the Hay ride, get candy, and of course eat popcorn and cotton candy.

She also went with her class to a pumpkin patch this week.  She had so much fun and didn't want to leave.

School Pictures and Dentist

Wednesday was school pictures at school.  :)

Thursday was Ava's first Dentist appointment.  I was a little nervous cause I didn't know how she would react. She was a little nervous but we went to this GREAT Pediatric Dentist.  The office is the cutest ever.  I am not sure how a kid can be scared in such a cute/fun setting.   There were games and all sorts of things to look at.   She got a sweet Hygienist that made her feel so comfortable.  Ava didn't shed one tear during the cleaning/exam.  They even have TVs to watch on the ceiling while they are having their teeth cleaned.  I mean how cool is that? We had a wait a while for the Dentist so her nerves were getting worn thin.  By the time she came in,  there were tears but not bad.  She has cavities.  I wasn't surprised because she is the candy queen!

Fresh Beat Band

Ava has loved this show since she was 1 or younger.  I actually think we started watching it when she was 6-9 months old.  Earlier in the year a Friend of mine saw they were coming to a nearby city on tour.  It wasn't a question to go or not?

So Tuesday night we went to see the FRESH BEAT BAND.  Ava loved it.  They both started jumping and dancing as soon as we got seated.  Ava was a little perplexed....she pointed to the stage that was familiar to the set on TV.  She said "they are on my TV".   :)    They came on and put on a great show.  It was worth every penny!!!  Ava danced, sung, and jumped around basically the whole time.

I have to admit I know every word to every song so I yelled and sang along :)
It was very fun.

Disney....the end

Me and Ava woke up early this morning.  I took her to the pool and playground.  We didn't have to check out till 1pm.  So we enjoyed a morning of fun.  I had a great breakfast bagel by the pool.   We all packed up and headed to the airport.   We ate lunch in the airport and just waited for our plane.  Ava was excited this time to fly.  She even wanted by the window.  We had a  good flight till it was time to descend.  Ava's ears started hurting and she cried the last 20 minutes of the flight.  That is a horrible feeling cause there was nothing I could do.  She was chewing gum but that didn't help.  It was nice to get back in Birmingham.  I am the type I love to travel and hate coming home.  BUT if I am going to have to be home I just want to get there and get things back to norm.  We ate at Cracker Barrel on the drive home and dropped off Nana/Pawpaw at their house.  It was a wonderful trip!!  We made lasting memories, and I am so thankful for that!!!

Disney Day 5

Our last full day :(

We ate breakfast in resort again.  I had a YUMMY omelet with the stuff I like (onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese).  Ava had cereal I think.

Today we made our way back Magic Kingdom.  Me and Adam rode Space Mountain which was FUN.  Ava wanted to ride Dumbo and tea Cups again.  So we did. :)  We had a couple character greetings, Chip and Dale, and the rabbit from Alice. We made our way over to Main street for the Move It Shake It parade.  It was soo fun!  Its all about dancing!

After we enjoyed that we made our way to the Castle for Ava's appointment at the Bibbiti Bobbitti Boutique.  This is the cutest thing ever!!!  I would have loved to done something like this as a child.  So cute!!!!!  Its a place inside the castle that transfers your little girl into a "Princess".  There are different packages you can buy.  I bought the one that included hair, makeup, and nails. They also give them a backpack with the makeup inside plus a sash!!!   Ava was so tired when we got there, but she loved it.  She just sat so still.  It was adorable.  The girl that did her hair was so sweet and just talking and talking.  When Ava saw herself all done she just grinned.  It was so cute.

Love it

Another fav!!!

After we finished in the BBB we headed over to Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner.  It is in the Castle and sooo cool.  I was so excited to be in the castle.  Its so gorgeous with stained glass windows and rustic looking light fixtures.  Adam told me at one point to contain myself because I was more excited than Ava :)
We took a picture with the main one, Cinderella, when we first entered.  I wasn't impressed with the food though.  And of all dinners this was the most expensive.  Its all about the location.  I had grilled chicken pasta.  Dad did too.  Adam and Mom had pork chops.  Ava had chicken nuggets of course.  For dessert Ava had a decorate it yourself cupcake.  Very cute!  Me and Dad had the chocolate cake.  Snow White, Belle, Aurora, and Ariel all came around to our table for pictures and signatures.

By this time of day we were all exhausted and tired.  We caught one last show, Mickeys Dreams Come True.  I ran into the Confectionery and got some goodies.  Dad spotted the train so we rode that and Ava fell asleep.  She slept on the way back to the resort.  We rested a bit and then everyone but dad went back to Downtown Disney.  We did some more shopping and grabbed something to eat.

Disney Day 4

We woke up today and ate breakfast in the food court again.  I shared french toast with mom and I think I ate Ava's leftover cereal.  Today we went to Disney Hollywood.   Our first stop after pictures was to the "Beauty and the Beast" show.   OH my!!   It was SO good.  Ava's eyes were fixed the entire time.  I just have to say these characters are SO talented.   The outfits, dancing, and music was amazing.  I had to hold myself from breaking out in song/dance.   I LOVE the music associated with the Disney movies like Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid.  It rained today.  Thankfully there were a lot of indoor rides and shows.  We went to get in line for Voyage of the Little Mermaid.  It stared pouring down so we just stood in the line where it was covered.  Another GREAT show.  I had to sing the songs out loud.  I just love them.  Ava's favorite Disney movie is probably Little Mermaid.  She was close to taking a nap but as soon as this show started her eyes were WIDE open the whole time.   It had the effect you were inside the "tavern" where she lived.....great animation and effects.

Another FAV pic...never get them both smiling

Ava stayed with Mom/Dad for some shopping while me and Adam went to the Aerosmith roller coaster!!!!  I LOVE me some Aerosmith so you know I was singing again.  I had heard this was a great ride and it WAS. It is super fast!!!!!!!!!   Adam bought Ava some glow drum sticks in there.  I am not sure who likes them more, her or him :)  We grabbed lunch in this outdoor type setting.  Adam had chicken fingers/fries and mom had Pizza that me and her shared.  Ava barely ate a thing as usual and dad wasn't hungry.

The Pixar Parade started at 3 but it kept getting delayed.  Finally it cleared up enough to start.  Word to the wise dollar store ponchos are a great thing to take to Disney!!  Mine came in so handy.  The parade was cute and then we headed back to the room to rest.  Tonight Ava stayed with Mom and Dad and me and Adam went to Downtown Disney.  Its soo gorgeous at night.  We shopped and ate dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express.  I loved it!!!!!!!  I had a turkey club that had avocado on it.  So yum.  For dessert I had creme Brulee. Adam had spicy pizza and cheesecake. The cheesecake was wonderful.  He shared 1 bite with me. :)  How gracious.  We shopped some more and went into the LEGO store.  I can't even tell you how many hours a day Legos would occupy me and my brother when we were little. I remember building cities and all sorts of things.  We both loved them!!!!  It brought back so many good memories.  I had to just sit down and play a bit :)   I was so excited to find some cool "girl" Legos, which are hard to find.  So we did some early Christmas shopping.  It was a great night!!!!!
