Friday dr. visit and weekend

Friday Ava was so sick. She was running a temperature, pulling at her ears, and overall just not feeling good. I decided I needed to call good ole Dr. Patz at HPA. I got her a 3:00 appointment so that meant I had to leave work early. Normally leaving work early on a Friday would be oh so fun. This was not the circumstance. Ava has stranger anxiety anyways, so you know she is going to freak out at anyone trying to touch her. So as I am talking to Dr. Patz above the crying, he says she has a bad right ear infection and fluid in her left ear. She also has a bad cold to top it off. We got some good meds and were on our way.
Saturday and Sunday I stayed inside with her. She was a little whiny but nothing horrible. I think her ears are still bothering her, but hopefully by the end of the week they will be better.

I made major progress in my house. I am still trying to balance the whole working full time thing, and still being a wife/mom. I cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned some more. Now that might last for a few days :)

Dream

Lately I have had crazy dreams. I mean the ones when you wake up you have to realize they weren't true. Some mornings while getting ready I have just had to laugh. I mean some of these dreams are so out there. Why do we dream? How are they connected to our everyday life? Do they have double meanings? Maybe our dreams are connected to our memories. Just thoughts to ponder this dreary morning.

Isn't it so nice how we can look at a picture, smell a scent, or hear a song, and we are taken back to a different time and place. I am in the process of decorating my new office. I am really thinking hard about putting a picture of Maui above my computer. I think it would be a nice escape to just look up and be taken back to such WONDERFUL memories. Its amazing how God lets us remember. I know some memories I wish I could forget, but maybe he lets us remember to make us more grateful.

Weekend in ATL

After a busy week we headed out Friday afternoon after I got off work to ATL. We haven't been since Christmas, and we probably won't get back for a few months. Adam starts an outage Tuesday, and it is set to last though April. We had a good trip....other than Ava being sick. She has a horrible cough, runny nose, etc. Bless her heart, I hate it for her. Its so hard seeing your child sick, especially at this age. I told Adam there really isn't much we can do for her. I just want to cough it up for her..LOL. She did really good considering though!
We enjoyed the wonderful weather Saturday. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, and then did some running around. The day was just awesome. I wish I could have stayed outside the whole day!!! Saturday night we went to a singing. Sunday we went to church. We headed home, but stopped to see Uncle Jeremy. The trip home was good too. Ava's new obsession is Toy Story. She literally watched it all the way through, then wanted me to replay it. Hey I am not complaining. It made for a wonderful trip home.
I was able to unpack and start laundry, and prepare for the coming week!

Hope everyone had a GREAT Valentines Day! Me and Adam went to lunch today to celebrate. Honestly we probably would have went out anyways. :) He was off work today. There is no way I wanted to go out tonight with all the crowds. We don't usually do big gifts for Vday. I mean don't get me wrong. I love me some flowers, but I don't want a $70 vase of flowers that will only last a few days. I actually bought some new perfume the other weekend for myself. We got Ava some candy and goodies. I can't stand the thought of another stuffed animal, or little toys stuffed in the crevice of my SUV.

So I typed this post at work and when I got home this is what I found:

What a Week!!

It was my first week back full time at work. Wow, what a change from my normal schedule. It was good though. I have been SOOO busy at work that my week has flown by. I got a little emotional Sunday night just thinking about coming back full time. It was sad to think my time with Ava is going to be less. She has had such a fun week with mom/dad though. I would get tears in the morning because she didn't want me to go to work. Then I would get tears in the afternoon because she was having so much fun she didn't want to go home with me :) She done great though. I guess all that playing took a toll on her. Every night this week she has been in bed before 8.....most nights 7:15. That did give me some MUCH needed time to rest!!!
My house is not spotless, but I really don't care :) I think my sanity, and spending time with my family is MUCH more important.

I am blessed. I had the opportunity to stay at home with her for almost 2 years. Now I have the opportunity to come back to a great job with wonderful people!

nice weekend and in transition

Ava didn't get sick anymore after Tuesday...Thank God! The weekend turned out to be gorgeous! We seized the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine. It was so nice! We took Ava to the park to meet some of our family we never get to see. The kids were like...."so this is what playing outside feels like?" We have been couped up for so long inside with the cold weather. After an afternoon of playing we ended it with a dinner at Buenavista! Ava must have played her heart out because she went to sleep at like 7. She actually asked to go to bed. That's a first!!!

Whew.....Monday. I went into work. The first Monday I have worked in forever! I was super busy with the transition of going back to work full time as the Office Manager! There is so much to do! This is my last week working part time. I start back full time Monday! I am excited but sad too!

Yeah, and by the picture you can tell her new favorite thing is climbing!!! Everytime I turn around she is either on the bar stool, dining chair, or coffee table. It stresses me out. I am so scared she is going to fall and hurt herself bad.

My sick baby

Tuesday afternoon Ava got sick! Actually the first time she has experienced the whole throw up thing. EW I know!! She was really clingy, but I didn't think anything about it. Lately she has been attached to my hip. She wanted me to hold her so I pick her up and when I did she got sick all over both of us! Let me just say I can handle poo, snot, etc....BUT something about throw up I can't handle. I did good though. I guess I just went into "Mom mode". I ran with her to the bathroom and cleaned us both up. Bless her heart she was so scared. She didn't know what happened. She only got sick one other time and that was it. So I am not sure it was something she ate or a little bug. I hope its over. She was fine yesterday and ate good.


Ok, I have to share a funny....I was watching New Moon yesterday. Yes its a little obsession of mine. Anyways, Ava came in there and saw the part where Jacob was shirtless before or after becoming a werewolf. She said "Daddy"!!! Oh lord if only that were true. Just Joking! I guess she saw dark skin and dark hair and thats her daddy for sure! I had to tell him and make his day!


My grandpa got to come home yesterday. He still has sooo far to go, but I am proud he is home!!!


On a random note our DVR receiver went out last night. OH yes it would have to go out before the night that it is usually hopping with recordings. I am ashamed to say how much I rely on that thing...and secretly love it!!! They are sending us one, but it won't be here till tomorrow or Saturday.
